More to come from teen star Sobhi

Teenager Ramadan Sobhi impressed on his Stoke City debut against Hamburg but the Egyptian has vowed there is much more to come.

Having only just joined up with his Potters teammates, Sobhi started the game in Germany and played an hour on the left wing in Stoke’s final pre-season game.

They will now turn their attention to their Premier League opener away to Middlesbrough, and Sobhi is desperate to get his career in England off to a good start.

“I am really happy to finally be a part of the group and I am really excited to be here,” he said.

“I wasn’t expecting to start against Hamburg, but I am very happy to play my first game with my new club.

“It wasn’t my best performance but I promise I will work harder to be successful at Stoke City and I’m really looking forward to playing in England.

“I’m really excited about the Premier League, but it’s not my decision to play. I need to work hard and when I get the chance I will do my very best for the good of the team.

“I think I did ok playing with my new teammates. I was happy to start and get a feel of the style of play,” he added.

“I’ve only been with the club for two days, so I am still trying to adapt but I will hopefully get to know everybody better in the next few weeks.”
