Danny’s well on the road to recovery
With Arsenal fans desperate to hear of new arrivals at the Emirates Stadium, manager Arsene Wenger was able to disclose the details of a player who might bolster their squad sooner than anticipated.
Danny Welbeck’s return date has been brought forward by three months, the Frenchman has revealed, with a previous estimate of April revised to January.
The 22-year old-injured his knee in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in May, requiring surgery and ruling him out of contention for Roy Hodgson’s England squad at Euro 2016.
Since arriving at Arsenal nearly two years ago, Welbeck has managed only 36 appearances.

But Wenger had positive news to deliver.
“The good news is that they had to go in and check how [his knee] is healing, and if the inflammation is healing,” Wenger said.
“It is healing even better than expected, so we think he will be back in the New Year.
“It could’ve been April, so we gained two or three months on the last medical check.
“It gives him a lift because it motivates him to accelerate the process a little bit, because when you don’t know what is going on inside the knee, you are a bit uncertain.
“Now he knows, he can go and work hard, so that is very good news.”
