Fabianski excited by competition in Swansea squad
Swansea City shot stopper Lukasz Fabianski expects competition for the No1 shirt at the Liberty Stadium this season to be good for the squad as whole.
Swedish international Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Gerhard Tremmel have been between the sticks for City so far in pre-season while the club have also signed Australian keeper Mark Birighitti.
Fabianski meanwhile, has only just joined up with the squad after enjoying an extended break following his time with Poland during Euro 2016.
“The goalkeeping department has a number of options – it’s good to see competition for places,” said the former Arsenal man.
“No matter what position you play, it’s only natural that you give even more to ensure you keep your place.
“Having strong competition is good for the players, the manager and the team.”

And Fabianski is looking to use the positive performances from the tournament to fuel a strong showing at the start of the new Premier League season.
“Poland had not won a European Championship game before, so for us to get as far as we did was a good achievement,” he added.
“I hope I can continue the good experience I had with Poland in the Euros with Swansea in the Premier League.
“You can have a feel-good factor in football which can stay with you, and hopefully I’ll have that when the Premier League kicks off.”
