Lovren backs Klopp to come good with Reds

The Klopp revolution at Liverpool has taken its time to come to fruition but defender Dejan Lovren insists the German is getting his message across.

After making his name at Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers back in October but Liverpool only finished eighth in the Premier League.

Having had a summer to put his own spin on the team the Reds are looking to get back into the race for a Champions League spot, with Klopp having brought in Sadio Mane and Giorginio Wijnaldum among others.

Now in his third season at Anfield, Lovren will be a key man in the heart of the defence alongside new signing Ragnar Klavan, and the Croatian believes it is only a matter of times before it all starts to click for the Reds, now that Klopp has got a real feel for the club.

“The first six or seven months with Jurgen, it was like a learning process, meeting each other and [getting to] know each other,” he explained.

“I think the manager now knows everything about the club, everything about the players and I think now we can start with him.

“We had a really good pre-season with him and now we know everything about each other, and that’s the most important thing.

“It was quite a tough time when Jurgen came, but he came in the right moment.”
