Vardy loving being back in Leicester fold
Goal machine Jamie Vardy says he loves being back with his ‘squad of brothers’ at Leicester City ahead of the Community Shield on Sunday.
The Premier League champions meet Jose Mourinho’s FA Cup winners at Wembley on Sunday as they look to prove that last year’s success was no fluke.
And after a difficult summer with England, Vardy is relishing being back with the Foxes squad having recently signed a new contract to keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2019.
He said: “This dressing room, like I’ve said many times, it’s like a full squad of brothers and that’s how we are on and off the field.
“That’s what makes us the team that we are and you can see that on the pitch when we give 110 per cent for each other.
“The gaffer can come in and have a laugh and a joke with us and that extends to the owners as well.
“It’s a well-run club and the atmosphere around it gives us that unique bond, it’s brilliant.”

The Community Shield will be Mourinho’s first competitive game in charge of the Red Devils as he prepares to renew his rivalry with new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Both Manchester clubs have been spending big money this summer as they look to regain the Premier League title and Vardy is excited by the challenge that will provide.
“There are a lot of new managers coming in who’ve purchased a lot of top quality players so it’ll be good to go up against them to see how good we are, to play against them again and show that what we did last season can be repeated,” he added.
