Williams hopes teeth removal solves injury woes
Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams hopes he has found the solution to his recent injury woes now that he has had his wisdom teeth removed.
The Welsh international helped his country to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 earlier this summer and recently returned to Crystal Palace duty in their pre-season friendly against Fulham.
And the 22-year-old hopes that after three years of regular injury struggles scuppering his prospects of first team football with the Eagles, he has finally turned a corner.
“I had just over two weeks off after the Euros, and in that time I got my wisdom teeth out but I managed to get away with my girlfriend for a few days,” said Williams.
“I needed to get my teeth done though, as they are linked to groin injuries. It is meant to be linked, it is strongly believed in Italy – I was doing everything I could and I kept getting injured.

“I have proved I’m now fit and healthy. I can’t remember the last time I was injured, so the gaffer at Palace wanted me to go and do well for Wales.
“Hopefully he felt I did do that and I can do that in pre-season and take the good form into a Palace shirt, then we’ll take it from there.”
With Williams confident that his injuries are now behind him, he’s looking to nail down a starting spot in Alan Pardew’s starting line-up in the Premier League.
“I believe I’m good enough to play in the Premier League,” he added.
“I can do it in a European Championship, so I’d like to think I can do it in the Premier League.
“The opportunities haven’t been as much as I’d liked previously due to injuries and selection. I want to be playing there, so I need to keep working hard and do my best.”
