Rooney: Now I know why Mourinho’s special
Having worked in close proximity during Manchester United’s pre-season tour of China, captain Wayne Rooney says it’s easy to see why Jose Mourinho and success go hand-in-hand.
The former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Read Madrid boss agreed a three-year deal in May to succeed Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
He has won the league title in every country he has managed and, having brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly to Manchester this summer will be expected to mount an immediate challenge for the Premier League title.

A world record deal for midfielder Paul Pogba is also expected to be completed by the time the transfer window closes on August 31.
And Rooney is impressed by Mourinho’s impact.
“He’s a fantastic manager,” said England’s all-time leading goal scorer.
“The last 10 days of training have been really enjoyable and you can see why he has been so successful at the clubs he’s been at.
“I’m enjoying it and I can’t wait for the season to start. It’s exciting.
“The signings we’ve made have been good signings. Zlatan has won trophies everywhere he has been and is a very experienced player. Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly have come in and trained really well, they are very good signings.
“It’s exciting to be a Manchester United player and we’re hoping we can be successful this season.”
