Drinkwater is ready for war
Danny Drinkwater accepts he has a key role to play on Saturday if champions Leicester City are to overcome Liverpool at Anfield.
The Reds, playing at home for the first time this season following the installation of 8,000 new seats, have outplayed both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur already this term, while they enjoyed more than 80 per cent possession in their away defeat to Burnley.
Leicester’s title-winning success was built on virtually bypassing the midfield, hitting teams on the counter attack with striker Jamie Vardy stretching the play.
But Drinkwater believes a war in the middle of the park is most like to ensue against Liverpool, and the 26-year-old is ready for battle.
“We’re not looking at them running away from us,” he said.

“We’re going to try to keep it locked down at the back, show what we can do going forward if we can dominate in the middle of the park it will help us.
“It’s going to be a tough game
“It’s the first game with their new stand and the atmosphere is going to be loud I guess.
“We need to try to dominate as much as we can because as soon as they get into their stride it’s going to be tough for us.
“We’ll work on our tactics and hopefully get them right.”
