Flamini convinced by Pardew offer
The chance to work with Alan Pardew was too good to turn down, according to Mathieu Flamini, after the French midfielder joined Crystal Palace.
The 32-year-old had been without a club after leaving Arsenal for the second time this summer, but had been linked with a move to Crystal Palace since deadline day.
And he finally signed on the dotted line as he fills the gap in the Palace midfield that has been missing since Mile Jedinak left for Aston Villa.
Flamini said: “Crystal Palace is a very ambitious club with great players and I am looking forward to being part of that squad. It is a very interesting challenge for me and I am very excited to be here.
“I have had chance to discuss the move here with Alan Pardew and he really helped me make my decision.”

Pardew had tried to bring in a number of players before deadline day, with Jack Wilshere the most notable target before heading to Bournemouth.
And the Eagles boss admitted it was a relief to have brought in both an extra body in midfield, as well as another leader in the changing room.
He added: “I thought it was important to get another midfield player. His playing ability will help us but also his leadership qualities and his ability of how to win games in a passing style. I am delighted that we have secured a player of his stature.”
