Grujic ready for gruelling year with Liverpool
Marko Grujic is receiving a crash course in the rigours of the Premier League and Liverpool’s new starlet insists he is a glutton for punishment.
Grujic was Jurgen Klopp’s first Liverpool signing as manager in January, but spent the rest of the season back at boyhood club Red Star Belgrade.
The 20-year-old will not be heading anywhere this year however as Klopp seeks to nurture his physically imposing youngster who, at 6ft3, is quite literally set to be a big presence in midfield.

But though Grujic has been blessed with an athletic frame, he admits Anfield may not see the best of him until next season as he looks to get up to speed.
“It was hard in pre-season, especially for me because I have come from Serbia and our work here is at a higher level,” said the Serbia international.
“The running and exercises are harder and I’m still learning, but I’m sure I will adapt. I’m proud that I can work with the staff here and it will be OK.
“For the first season I just want to learn from these guys. I have the big pleasure of playing with some of the best footballers in the world.
“I want to get some minutes and games to try and improve myself for the future. I think next season will be the one where I show what I can do.”
