Guardiola: Aguero doesn’t need my help at City
Pep Guardiola looks to have waved his magic wand and turned Manchester City into world beaters, but the Spaniard insists that what Sergio Aguero has, he can’t teach.
Aguero, 28, sparkled for Manchester City in their 4-0 Champions League win over Borussia Mönchengladbach to take his tally for the season to nine.
The 45-year-old Spaniard may have two Champions League winners medals under his managerial belt – as well as having coached Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi – but he is adamant that the best approach to coaching Aguero is to sit back and watch.
“He was good with Manuel Pellegrini, he was good with the national team… I only wanted to convince him that his talent of scoring in the box is natural,” Guardiola stated.

“I cannot teach that. He has to know the team around is going to help him. He is going to score a lot of goals.”
Guardiola also praised the City fans, who he says are as key as any player in his squad to achieving success this season.
“The fans have to know we play for them. It’s our job. We need them in the Champions League to beat the best teams in the world,” he added.
“We cannot make something good in the Champions League in the coming years without them.”
