Hendrick Keane to follow advice
Few have achieved as much in the Premier League as Roy Keane and club-record Burnley signing Jeff Hendrick has accepted his Republic of Ireland coach’s advise that he must start scoring more goals.
Jeff Hendrick shone for Ireland at Euro 2016, but after completing a move to Turf Moor, Keane advised the 24-year-old he must start hitting the net more often if he is to be a success in the Premier League.
Hendrick scored just 22 goals in 196 appearances for Derby County, and Keane – who made 323 appearances for Manchester United – that he must offer more goals from the midfield.

And Hendrick was in no mood to ignore criticism from the Red Devils great and is planning on channelling his impressive summer into his Burnley challenge.
“I accept it, of course,” he said. “Going into games I want to do my best. I do want to score goals and it’s something I’m working on so hopefully I can get more.
“I can take confidence from the summer but it’s wiped clean a little bit because it’s a new group, a new challenge.
“I will take the confidence in and try and perform to do better.
“I’m delighted I got the move. I was waiting for a few weeks to get it done. After the summer I had, I wanted a crack at the Premier League. Now, my main focus is the game tomorrow night.
“The summer was what I dreamed of as a kid, to play in a tournament like that. I’ve got to get back to hard work. Now I’ve got a new club, I need to work harder as well. It’s exciting times but I’ve got to focus on the game.”
