Jagielka looking forward after first Everton defeat
Everton defender Phil Jagielka is refusing to press the panic button just yet despite Ronald Koeman’s men suffering a shock loss against Bournemouth at the weekend.
The Merseysiders have enjoyed an impressive start to the Premier League season but drew a blank on the South Coast as they lost 1-0 to a Junior Stanislas strike at Bournemouth.
Jagielka insists he has already erased the memories of the defeat at the Vitality Stadium at the weekend from his mind and is now concentrating on Everton’s next fixture against in-form Crystal Palace.
“We will look at the video and iron out a few things that we did wrong and then move on to Palace,” said the Blues skipper.
“That’s a massive game at home before the international break so it is important we get back to winning ways.

“Far too many of us were below par against Bournemouth. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror if we are to challenge up at the top of the league. We need to make sure we go to places like Bournemouth and put a better display on.”
“In the first half we didn’t compete well enough. We were second to too many balls and didn’t keep possession when we had the opportunities to do so.
“They put us under pressure and a goal from them always seemed to be coming.
“Unfortunately it did. Afterwards we just couldn’t get back into it. We had a few opportunities but couldn’t convert them. We are disappointed in the way we performed.”
