Robson-Kanu wants central role at West Brom

Hal Robson-Kanu says West Brom fans will see the best of him if he gets the opportunity to play as a central striker under Tony Pulis at the Hawthorns.

The striker, who has also been utilised as a winger during his career, joined West Brom as a free agent on Wednesday following a series of eye-catching performances at Euro 2016.

The 27-year-old opted to leave Reading prior to the tournament where he scored a memorable goal against Belgium in Wales’ quarter-final victory.

Robson-Kanu was back with training with Wales this week, leaving the squad to complete his deal, ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Moldova on Monday.

And while the versatile Robson-Kanu is content to fit in wherever he is needed at the Hawthorns he believes his best position is as a central striker.

“Obviously I’ve been playing as striker for my nation and that’s where I’ve really flourished, it would be nice to take that on,” he said.

“I see myself as striker I’m capable of playing various positions but to be most effective I’m definitely a striker.

“Obviously I keep myself fit, I’m a fit lad so I’ll be more than confident when I’m called upon.

“It’s about being successful as a group of players and as a squad and I’ll look forward to playing my part.”
