Tadic: Watch out for ever-improving Saints
They have won their last four games in all competitions and after registering his first goal of the new campaign during Southampton’s 3-0 rout of West Ham at the London Stadium, Dušan Tadić insists Saints are on the march.
Tadić, who has started the season in fine form for Southampton, latched onto Charlie Austin’s neat touch before bamboozling West Ham goalkeeper Adrian to the roll the ball into the net.
Following another close season of upheaval on the South Coast, including the arrival of new boss Claude Puel, many predicted Southampton would struggle this term.
But since losing to a last-gasp controversial penalty against Arsenal before the last international break, Southampton have turned things around.
They were dominant against the Hammers at the Olympic Park at the weekend and Tadić is relishing his role in the Southampton revolution.
“In that kind of situation you try to improvise and show your qualities and, honestly, I don’t know what I do, when I’m on the pitch I just relax and play,” he said.
“I put him [Adrian] on the ground and it was a really nice first inception from the whole team, we press really well and then Charlie played a really good one-touch ball for me for the goal.
“I’m really happy, but what’s more important is that we show a good team performance.
“We played better, but we will analyse everything and we’ll see what is good and what is not good.
“We just need to keep going and keep the momentum, that’s it, because we are on a good way.”
