Conte moves to calm Chelsea’s Spanish trio

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has urged his Spanish contingent not to worry after they were left out of their country’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Despite winning his first three Premier League games, Conte and Chelsea have endured a difficult campaign following a three-game period that saw them draw with Swansea and lose to Liverpool and Arsenal.

And while the Blues got back to winning ways against Hull City last time out, their title credentials have been questioned.

Chelsea’s struggles have also spread to the players’ international hopes with Cesar Azpilicueta, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro all being left out of the Spain squad for their forthcoming matches.

Conte insists Spain’s loss is Chelsea’s gain and believes his trio will soon demonstrate their quality again.

“Azpi, Cesc and Pedro are three important players for Chelsea,” the Italian said.

“They are working very well with great commitment and a good attitude, which is important.

“I think this can be an opportunity for them to work hard and try to get back into the Spain squad. We are talking about three great players.”
