Coutinho: Klopp right man to lead Liverpool to silverware
Philippe Coutinho is determined to reward Liverpool’s fans with trophies during his time at Anfield, and the Brazilian insists Jurgen Klopp is the right man to lead the Reds to silverware.
Coutinho is in his fifth season at Anfield since making the move from Inter Milan, and has become one of the club’s leading men in the time since.
He credits manager Klopp with taking his game to the next level since his arrival in the Liverpool dugout almost a year ago, but for 24-year-old Coutinho, it’s time for the team to start repaying the hard work.
“Jurgen has helped me to develop a lot as a player,” he said. “I really enjoy working with this manager. He has given me a lot of confidence.
“We play high pressure football, this style suits us and this manager is so important for Liverpool. I believe in this squad.
“We have a good team, but we have to show it every day and in every game. We can’t look too far ahead.”

Liverpool have enjoyed a promising start to the Premier League season, taking 13 of a maximum 18 points from the opening six games of the new campaign.
And Coutinho has high hopes for the Reds this year, but admits the team won’t be content with their performances if they don’t have something to show for it come May.
“What I really want is to life the trophies for this club. That’s the most important thing,” he added.
“You want to look back at the end of your career and think about what you have won. We have been so close but we don’t want this anymore.
“We don’t want to just go close. We want to take that next step. Every day we work hard in training to get there.”
