Dann: Milestones mean nothing if Palace don’t win

Crystal Palace captain Scott Dann has admitted personal milestones mean nothing if his side are not succeeding, even saying he didn’t realise when he played his 100th game.

Dann has been one of the Eagles’ most consistent performers since signing from Blackburn in 2014 and racked up his 100th appearance in a loss to Southampton in the EFL Cup.

That defeat, coupled with a hamstring injury that saw him depart after just 19 minutes of that game, meant he was not in the mood for celebrating.

“I didn’t realise it was my 100th game until the day afterwards when I spotted it on the club website,” the 29-year-old Liverpudlian said.

“It wasn’t a good night as I picked up an injury and we lost the game, but it was nice to reach that milestone. It’s really pleasing and it feels as though it’s come quite quickly.

“ I know I’ve been here for a couple of years now but it’s come around fast and it’s something I’m proud of.

“I’ve played my best football here and enjoyed every minute, so for that reason I feel as though it’s the best part of my career.”
