Lanzini hopes Hammers form can earn international call
Manuel Lanzini was a key component in West Ham’s impressive Premier League season last year and now he’s hoping his impressive showings will earn an international call-up.
After scoring seven times in his first Premier League campaign, the Argentine midfielder once again showed just what he is capable of against Crystal Palace last weekend.
He was in the perfect position to latch onto Aaron Cresswell’s cross to score the only goal of the game, pushing the Hammers out of the relegation zone and up to 15th in the Premier League.

But with the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Javier Mascherano demonstrating the quality already in the Argentine squad, the 23-year-old Hammer knows it’s no simple task to catch the attention of national coach Edgardo Bauza.
“I hope I can get a call-up. I’m always striving for that because it’s my target and dream to play for the national team,” he said.
“I know that if I can keep doing well, I could get an opportunity and I hope to be involved.
“I always watch Argentina play. There are so many good players who are doing well for their teams and most of them are stars at their clubs.”
