It’s all in the name for Success and Watford
A name like Isaac Success already comes with its own expectations, but Watford’s new forward is keen to make his name fit performances for the Hornets.
The 20-year-old signed on a club record fee, believed to be around £12.5million, in the summer, already showing potential in his five Hornets games to date, culminating in his first goal in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in the last game before international duty.
But while he has just one goal in Watford colours so far, Success has continued to impress, proving important in the 2-1 home win over Manchester United.

It’s a fast start the Hornets have become somewhat familiar with in the shape of Odion Ighalo, scoring 13 goals by the turn of the year after his first season in the Premier League – with Success admitting he has admiration for his fellow forward.
“When I arrived, people came up to me and said ‘You are Success, so you are going to be a success’, and that’s what I’m waiting to bring to the team,” said the former Granada man.
“I want to see Watford do something extraordinary that they didn’t do last year, that’s the aim of all players, so now I’m waiting to see what happens and where we end up come the end of the season.
“I never really knew the real meaning of my name growing up until I came to England, and people wanted it themselves but I’m really happy to be a part of that name.
“I’ve always admired Ighalo, he’s a very honest and humble guy and I’ve always enjoyed watching him train and that’s helped me become a better player.”
