Ndong settling in after tricky Sunderland start
Sunderland’s new signing Didier Ndong has opened up to the challenges he has faced following his £13.7million move from French side Lorient this summer.
The 22-year-old was a record signing for the Black Cats, admitting that his move has been difficult at times, but is optimistic of success at his new club – despite English not being his first language.
And while Ndong’s side went into the international break without a Premier League win to their name, the Gabon international is confident the team are close to finding their all-important form.

“At the moment it has been challenging settling in but everything is going well,” he said.
“It really helps having other French speakers because it is easier to adapt- but for French players it’s really hard for a moment, were at a tricky start but if we work hard we’ll get there.
“It’s great to see that the fans are supporting us every match. They encourage us and cheer us on no matter what.
“Even if it’s difficult at times I am really proud to be wearing the t-shirt and to be playing. Even though we are three points behind, I really want to give my all and I’m confident we will do it.
“We really need the three points, and we are going to stoke with the intention to bring them back.”
