Norwegian Tiger Henriksen ready to pounce
Norwegian footballers have enjoyed plenty of success in the Premier League and Markus Henriksen is desperate to follow in the footsteps of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and others with Hull City.
The 24-year-old joined Hull at the end of the summer transfer window, but has had to bide his time at the KCOM Stadium.
Henriksen was an unused sub in last week’s 6-1 hammering at Bournemouth – Mike Phelan’s first game in charge since being named full-time manager.
But the playmaker is determined to make an impact sooner rather than later and continuing the tradition of Scandinavian players succeeding in England.

“The Premier League means a lot to the people back home and I think it is the dream of every footballer in Scandinavia to play in this league,” said Henriksen.
“The games are shown everywhere – it’s huge and we know that nearly all the biggest players come to play in England. The world is watching this league and that is very exciting.
“It is a huge honour to be playing in the Premier League and I want to do well having been given the chance.
“John Arne Riise and Brede Hangeland were the two Norwegian players I looked at as having done well over here, as well as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was the big name when I was younger. It helps to know that Norwegian players have done well over here in the past.
“Before coming here, I had hoped that my next step would be into the Premier League and when the chance came with Hull I had to take it.
“I know I have to prove myself here and I think that is the normal feeling for any player that moves. You have to show why you are playing in the Premier League and why you have been given the chance.
“It is important that I show everybody at this club that I can add something and I am looking forward to my future here.”
