Romeu wants Southampton to make St Mary’s a fortress again
Southampton have to make St Mary’s a fortress once more according to Oriol Romeu, after they slipped to a first home loss of the season.
Chelsea claimed a 2-0 win on the south coast thanks to goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa to leave Saints ninth in the table.
They will now turn their attention to Europe and a glamour tie with Inter Milan, and Romeu is determined that Saints don’t slip again on their own patch.

“We have to come back now,” he said. “We don’t want to lose two in a row.
“The season is very long and we need to come back. We have been very good recently, and the feelings are bad because we have lost.
“We are being honest with ourselves, but we need to look forward and we need to be proud as well.
“I think the fans will be behind us. It will be a nice night and hopefully we can get a good win, and get those wins back again.
“It’s the first one we have lost, but we have to stop it as soon as possible and we have to come back stronger and better.
“It was a tough, tough game. They are very clever with what they do. Once they scored they defended in their own half and were then coming out.
“We tried to stop them, but after a simple mistake again it’s another goal and against this team they are very clinical up front. We needed to play perfectly defensively and I think we made those two mistakes that gave them the chances to go ahead.”
