Bournemouth boss Howe quashes Wilson transfer rumours
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has moved to dampen any speculation linking Callum Wilson with a move away from the club, insisting all of his players should keep their focus on matters on the pitch.
This week saw speculation that Newcastle United would swoop for Cherries striker Wilson as they look to strengthen their squad in a bid to return to the Premier League.
It would not be the first time the North East club has raided Bournemouth’s ranks with midfielder Matt Ritchie moving to the Magpies over the summer.

But while transfer rumours will inevitably start to swirl as the January transfer window edges closer, Howe was quick to put a halt to those surrounding Wilson.
The 24-year-old had played 11 times this season before the weekend’s clash with Arsenal, netting three times, and Howe insists the club intend to keep hold of their player.
“It’s got no relevance to us. Not to the football club or to Callum. There’s no substance to the story,” he said.
“The only time that will influence him is if he believes it or reads it himself. And I would encourage my players to just concentrate on their day-to-day job.”
