Chadli: Spurs form gave me pressure to impress with Baggies
Nacer Chadli admits his form at Tottenham Hotspur left him with pressure to succeed after moving to West Bromwich Albion but insists the price tag had little influence in his bid to impress.
Chadli signed at the Hawthorns for a club-record £13million over the summer, with the Baggies fighting off interest from several other interested parties for his signature.
And the 27-year-old has so far justified the fee, following up a record that saw him score 25 times for Spurs with four goals and two assists in his seven appearances to date – including a strike against his former employers.
It is form which won him a place back in the Belgium squad for the recent internationals after missing Euro 2016, with Chadli claiming the backing of manager Tony Pulis has been a great influence this term.

“Whether I’m transferred for £4m or £20m, it doesn’t change anything for me,” he said.
“But I have to admit I felt people were expecting a lot from me because I came from Tottenham, where I spent three seasons and scored quite a few goals.
“My priority is to play every week, to find consistency and to have a manager who believes in me.
“I immediately had a good feeling (about West Brom). I wanted to stay in the Premier League. It’s the most watched league in the world.
“It really is the best playing here: the intensity, the overall quality, the fact anyone can beat anyone; we saw it with Leicester last year. It really is an incredible league.”
