Fryers England backing for Palace’s Zaha
Wilfried Zaha has not played for England since 2013, but Crystal Palace teammate Zeki Fryers believes that the 24-year-old has more than enough tools to make an international return.
Former Manchester United man Zaha has scored just once in 12 appearances for Palace this season, but Fryers – who began life at the Red Devils – believes the forward’s contribution throughout the field is more than enough to justify a recall.
Zaha has four Premier League assists to his name so far this term and he showed against Burnley that he is more than adept at creating goals from the wide areas.

He insists that if the £15million man can keep creating chances for Alan Pardew’s side – as they look to push on from their currently lowly 16th place – then Zaha is in prime position to push himself into Gareth Southgate’s selection thoughts.
“Wilf is good enough to play for England again, he’s got everything,” said Palace’s 24-year-old left-back Fryers.
“He’s been doing well in our games, getting assists, and that’s what he’s about.
“As a forward, he wants to get assists and he’s doing that. That’s all he can do to impress and hopefully it happens for him.”
