Settled Salomon singled out for praise by Baggies boss Pulis
West Brom manager Tony Pulis believes Salomon Rondon’s improved performances are down to his off-the-pitch happiness after watching the Venezuelan net the final goal in Monday night’s 4-0 victory over Burnley.
Rondon arrived at the Baggies in a £12m deal – at the time a club record signing – last season but failed to adjust to life in England in his first 12 months.
Now, after scoring just ten goals in 40 appearances last term, the striker has found his feet in the West Midlands – to the delight of Pulis.
“It was good to see Salomon finish his night with the goal he deserved,” said Pulis.
“He has really settled now, his English is coming on and he doesn’t have to follow Claudio (Yacob) around all the time now for him to translate.”

The Baggies had scored 13 goals in their last 11 Premier League outings before turning on the style against the Clarets.
But Pulis – who is often labelled as being a conservative manager – is confident the return of midfielders Chris Brunt and James Morrison will continue to give his side more creative nous.
“Having Brunty (Chris Brunt) and Mozza (James Morrison) back has obviously helped us because they are good technical players who look after the ball so well,” he added.
