van der Hoorn targets early Christmas present for Swansea fans

Mike van der Hoorn is hoping a slightly kinder Premier League fixture list to the end of the year can help his side deliver an early Christmas present to the Swansea City fans.

The 24-year-old centre back, who scored his first Swans goal in the home defeat to Manchester United, was signed from Ajax in the summer.

And despite being part of a struggling Swans side so far this season, he is confident that some good results between now and the end of the year are very possible.

“We have had some difficult games already this season, especially at home,” he said.

“We have already played a lot of the teams who will be fighting for the top four places at the end of the season.

“We know we are fighting to get out of the relegation places. If we can get a few wins before Christmas, maybe we can start thinking about other targets.

“But at the moment we just have to get out of the bottom three. We have to stay together and focus on getting some good results.

“We know we have to be better than we have been so far this season, but I think we will improve. We have to build up in training to every single game knowing that we need to try to win.”
