Wimmer: Derby draw start of great things for Spurs
Kevin Wimmer insists his Spurs teammates will have the bit between their teeth when they return to Premier League action after the international break.
Wimmer made his first Premier League appearance of the campaign in his side’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday, Spurs’ fourth consecutive league draw.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have failed to bag maximum points in any competition since their 2-0 victory over Manchester City on October 2, but Wimmer, who scored an own goal at the Emirates, insists better things are to come for his team.
“We’ve tried to turn things around after recent games and we did well [against Arsenal],” said the centre-back.
“For me, it’s always a good feeling to be in the starting 11, especially a game like this. I always try to give my best and we all wanted to win.
“We obviously got the draw, but we now have some time until the next game and I think we’ve turned the corner.
“We’re moving in the right direction and everyone believes we can continue to improve. Now we have some time while the internationals are on, then we’ll do everything to get the three points against West Ham.”

Spurs welcome the Hammers to White Hart Lane on November 19, and Wimmer insists confidence is high they can continue their unbeaten start to the season.
And with a solid performance against their north London rivals in the bank, the 23-year-old believes it provides the perfect platform for Spurs from which to build.
“We had some good chances and that shows the mentality in the team is very good, especially in a game like this,” he added.
“It was a great team performance, we had some good chances after we scored the penalty and maybe with a bit of luck we could have won.
“It was a typical derby, lots of intensity and everyone tried their best. We tried to get the three points and we were unlucky.”
