Herrera still excited by life at Manchester United

Ander Herrera may have been playing for Manchester United for the best part of two-and-a-half years, but he claims the attacking nature of the Premier League still excites him.

Herrera moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao for €36million in July 2014 and has already racked up over 90 appearances for the club since.

The Spanish midfielder has slotted seamlessly into the English game and admits he has enjoyed the unique atmosphere found at grounds up and down the country.

And as an avid fan of the Premier League even before his move from Bilbao, the 27-year-old couldn’t be more impressed after experiencing the reality as a player.

“I watched a lot of English football before I came because it’s the most exciting league to watch,” explained Herrera.

“The organisation is unbelievable, the way the FA thinks about the fans and how they want all the stadiums full, it’s amazing.

“The pitches are always good as well. Everyone always asks me that about the differences and to be honest I don’t think there is a big difference, football is football everywhere and the good players are good players everywhere.

“Maybe the rhythm of the game here is a little bit higher sometimes. In Spain and other countries they think more about tactics or defending the goal, but here in England everyone wants to attack and that’s good for the fans as well.”
