Iwobi insists Arsenal’s title fight is far from over

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi insists Lady Luck is to blame for their mid-season slump in form that has dropped them down to fourth in the Premier League table.

Defeats this week to both Everton and Man City have been tough to take for the North Londoners who were top of the table at the start of the month when they downed Stoke.

Theo Walcott had put them in front in Manchester on Sunday but the Citizens came roaring back – much to Iwobi’s disappointment.

But the Nigerian is adamant that his side can bounce back over Christmas and keep their place in the title race – despite sitting nine points behind leaders Chelsea.

“Yeah, we’re gonna keep on going, fight until the end and see where we go,” he said.

“I guess you could say we took our foot off the gas. Man City took advantage very well in the second half. We were up against a tough side, we were just unfortunate to not keep the win.

“We started off very well but we weren’t able to keep it up in the second half and we were very unfortunate.

“We just have to continue the way we were playing at the start of the season. We just have to get that back and kick on now and prepare well for the next game.”
