Larsson: Sunderland are up for the fight
Midfielder Seb Larsson insists he is up for the fight as he bids to keep Sunderland afloat in the Premier League once again.
This season is another similar one for Sunderland as they once again find themselves fighting for their lives at the wrong end of the table.
Since November, David Moyes’ side have improved their fortunes, with four wins in seven games seeing them climb of the bottom and the Black Cats are now just two points behind Crystal Palace in 17th.
Last time out, however, Sunderland went down 3-1 to Manchester United on Boxing Day, a game that marked Larsson’s return to the starting XI.

But despite that defeat, Swede Larsson is still relishing the fight.
“We made some defensive errors against Man United and that cost us the points, but we can’t afford to dwell on that because points are what we are fighting for,” said Larsson, who will be hoping to keep his starting spot when Sunderland face Burnley on New Year’s Eve.
“We’ve shown we are willing to fight already this season and that’s going to be crucial because we know more points are at stake.
“We need to take our chances when they fall our way and make sure we get something out of the game [against Burnley].
“We have been in this position before so we know what we’ve got to do and it’s all about picking up points.
“Points are what we need and that’s got to be our focus when we go to Burnley.”
