Leicester ‘would welcome new signings’, says winger Albrighton

Leicester City’s players would welcome any signings made by the club, according to winger Marc Albrighton.

The defending Premier League champions are on a run of just one win in nine games, and are 16th in the table, just three points clear of the relegation zone.

City have reportedly sealed the £15 million signing of Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi from Belgian outfit Genk, and manager Claudio Ranieri is rumoured have close to £30 million to spend in the transfer window to help his side avoid relegation to the Championship.

Leicester lost 2-0 at the King Power Stadium to Everton on Boxing Day, and host a resurgent West Ham United, who have won three league games on the spin, on New Year’s Eve as the Foxes round off an historic 2016.

Leicester’s team ethic and close-knit squad was one of the main factors hailed for their incredible title win earlier this year, but Albrighton has said any new faces would be welcomed into the fold.

“If the club are looking to do business, then we welcome them,” said Albrighton.

“If the club think they are the right players to help the team then I am sure they will improve the team.

“We have got to welcome them and get them into the Leicester philosophy.”
