Mourinho ‘doesn’t want’ to sell Manchester United players

Jose Mourinho insists Manchester United will only sign off sales this January if players force a move – with the Portuguese boss claiming the club have yet to receive an acceptable offer.

Morgan Schneiderlin is the most obvious candidate to leave Old Trafford next month as the France midfielder has played just 11 minutes of Premier League football under Mourinho this season.

Everton and West Bromwich Albion are thought to be confident of ending the 27-year-old’s nightmare 18-month stay at United, while fellow flop Memphis Depay also looks to be on his way out.

Mourinho has also ruled out any outgoing loans – apart from third-string goalkeeper Sam Johnstone – but is reluctant to sanction a firesale.

“I don’t want to sell players,” Mourinho said. “The club, the board, are totally with me – they don’t want to sell players.

“But as I said before, if a player is not having lots of minutes and if a player really wants to leave, we have no right to stop the player to leave – if the conditions are our conditions.

“And until this moment we have not received one single offer that we are going to accept.”
