Poch: Alli needs to find consistency for Spurs
Mauricio Pochettino has urged Dele Alli to find more consistency in his game as the Spurs midfielder continues to regain the form that saw him called up to the England squad last season.
The 20-year-old firmly established himself in Spurs’ first-team ranks in his debut Premier League campaign last year, but has struggled to match those performances this term.
Alli had looked to be suffering from the effects of a busy summer at Euro 2016 at the start of the season, with injury issues also contributing to his lacklustre displays.

He has made 21 appearances for Spurs in all competitions this season, as well as featuring in the international line-up for England’s World Cup qualifying fixtures.
But he looked to be heading back to his best on Saturday as Spurs ran out 5-0 winners against Swansea City, playing his part in four of his side’s goals, and Pochettino is keen to see further fine performances from Alli as the season progresses.
“I’m happy with him, he has recovered the feeling of last season,” he said.
“He’s young and needs to find his best and be consistent – that is the challenge for him.”
