Toby’s desperate for Spurs to kick on now he’s back
Toby Alderweireld’s first start back from injury for Tottenham Hotspur ended in defeat but the defender insists his side are hungry to set the record straight.
The 27-year-old returned from an upper leg injury to the centre of the Spurs defence in their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Spurs welcome Hull to White Hart Lane on Wednesday night desperate to right their form in the Premier League that has seen them slip to fifth – three points out of the top four.
And the Belgian international admits he is desperate to make up for lost time and help fire Mauricio Pochettino’s team back up the table.
“Everyone is gutted, everyone is sad because we felt we could get at least a point here, so that’s frustrating,” he said.

“We have to put that frustration and anger and use it in the right way, we can’t change this, so we have to use it in the right way and try to get three points at home on Wednesday night.
“I feel very good, fit and happy to get the 90 minutes and I felt I was strong enough to do what I wanted to do until the end, so I’m happy with that.”
