Bolasie: Davies destined to be a Toffees inspiration
Going from boyhood fan to first-team regular is the dream of any football fan, and Yannick Bolasie believes Everton teammate Tom Davies is the perfect inspiration for others to follow in his footsteps.
Still just 18, Davies has already had Toffees fans cheering his name, getting his first goal in Blues colours in the Premier League, with some sublime skill against Manchester City sealing a home victory at Goodison Park.
That strike capped off what is becoming a dream season for the youngster, making his way through the Blues’ youth set-up to become a regular feature of Ronald Koeman’s plans.
And Bolasie, who signed from Crystal Palace over the summer, believes his fellow midfielder has all the attributes to become a beacon of hope for the next generation at youngsters.

“Tom Davies has become an ambassador for those guys,” Bolasie said. “A lot of people are going to look up to Tom and believe they can do it as well.
“I’d be thinking the same if I was in the youth team. I would say ‘if he’s done it, why can’t I?’
“As a player, you end up working harder, which is good for the club.
“It’s always good to see youngsters coming over because you know that, as a senior player, you can teach them things.
“A lot of our younger players tend to listen and want advice. They ask questions as well, which is important.”
