Clement can turn Swansea fortunes around, says new signing Olsson

New Swansea City signing Martin Olsson believes Paul Clement is the right man to turn round the ailing Swans’ run of poor form.

Clement took over from Bob Bradley, who was sacked on December 27, and oversaw his first match in charge against Arsenal on Saturday.

However, the Gunners ran out 4-0 winners at the Liberty Stadium, leaving the Swans bottom of the Premier League on goal difference.

Swedish left-back Olsson, who worked with Clement when the latter was a coach at Blackburn Rovers, was full of praise for his new boss’ training methods, and believes it is a matter of time before the team climbs the table.

“I’ve known Paul for a few years and he’s a good man,” said Olsson, 28, who joined from Norwich City.

“I like the way he trains – it is intense – and I can’t wait to start working with him.

“The squad plays good football, even with the position the team is in now, and I don’t think the club should be down there. It’s a good team.

“A few seasons ago Swansea were very high up in the table, and they haven’t lost too many players since then.

“With the way we play, we should be up there. Hopefully Paul comes in with his tactics and makes it work.

“I want to work hard, enjoy it and do everything I can for the club. I just want to get into the team and start playing.”
