Cleverley looking to bring the spirit of 2010 back to the Hornets
Tom Cleverley wants to party like it’s 2010 after making his second Watford debut at the weekend.
The 27-year-old midfielder has joined the Hornets on loan from Everton and played the first game of his spell by coming off the bench in the frustrating 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Cleverley previously spent the 2009-10 season on loan at Vicarage Road from Manchester United and became an instant fans’ favourite by plundering 11 goals in 33 league games.
He was named as Watford’s Player of the Season and it is those good memories that saw him have no hesitation in returning to the club, with his stated target being to recreate those halcyon days.

“I always have a positive feeling when I come back here, that’s why I jumped at the chance to come back,” explained Cleverley.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride since I left, and I’ve really enjoyed my football here.
“I spoke to Troy [Deeney] because I knew him and coming here with Everton a few weeks ago I saw the quality in the Watford side.
“It’s a good opportunity for me to play some games and get some football under my belt.
“Footballers want to play, I want to get that feel-good factor back – I love this club, and I want to bring back the good memories from seven years ago.”
