Coutinho: Cohesion the key to Liverpool success
With his side still on the hunt for success in three competitions this season, Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho believes team togetherness will determine whether they end their year with a trophy in their cabinet.
The Reds are still in contention for a maiden Premier League title, sitting seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea in third, while an FA Cup replay with Plymouth on Wednesday night could see them reach the fourth round.
Add that to an EFL Cup semi-final with Southampton, and Jurgen Klopp’s side are in for a busy few months – even without the strain of European football.

But with ‘big objectives’ in mind, Coutinho believes harmony is more important than ever for a side with just one major trophy since 2006, but is backing Klopp to be the man to deliver.
“We have to keep working together because the season is very long. We have big objectives to realise this season,” the 24-year-old said.
“The confidence [of a good result] brings good feeling, tells us that we have to keep working hard. This season promises to be very important for us and Liverpool have to keep playing well.
“He is a great manager, he has changed the mentality in our team. We have become much stronger in defence, and we’ll keep working together.”
