Davies: Marco already established Silva standard at Hull

Abel Hernandez’s double handed Marco Silva a dream start to life in Yorkshire and defender Curtis Davies believes the new Hull City boss has wasted no time in stamping his authority on the side.

The Tigers came from a goal down to defeat Bournemouth at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday, with Hernandez’s two-goal salvo either side of the break critical before a Tyrone Mings’ own-goal wrapped up the win.

That victory took them off the bottom of the Premier League and Davies has praised the influence Silva is already exerting over the whole squad.

“He’s had a big impact and he’s come in to put his stamp on things straight away,” said Davies.
“There hasn’t been any sitting back for a couple of weeks to see who does what or who might be best in certain positions.

“He physically moves players around in training to make sure they are in the right places. We had a meeting last week to analyse the cup win against Swansea. It was supposed to be a ten-minute thing but it lasted 35 minutes – he is meticulous in everything.

“He wants the best out of us to keep the Club in the Premier League.

“On Saturday against Bournemouth, after a poor start, I thought we were the better team and after we got back level, we kept getting into their faces and got a second.

“We kept going again after that to get the third and that is what the manager wants. It would have been easy to sit back at 2-1 and try and soak any pressure up, but we didn’t. We kept going and got another goal.”
