Mazzarri: New Watford signings signal intent in Premier League
Watford boss Walter Mazzarri insists the Hornets have signalled their growing intent in the Premier League with the signings of M’Baye Niang and Mauro Zarate this week.
Zarate put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at Vicarage Road in his switch from Fiorentina, while Niang joined on loan from AC Milan with a view to a permanent move in the future.
Niang could be in line to make his debut for his new side against Millwall in their FA Cup fourth round clash on Sunday, but Zarate is forced to miss out through suspension.
Watford currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, having picked up only two points since the turn of the year.

But with new arrivals adding strength to his side, Mazzarri is confident their fortunes can soon start to turn around.
“The club has given an important message and an important sign by signing these two players,” he said.
“I know very big clubs in the UK and outside wanted them.
“They are two great players with very important qualities that will help us in the right part of the pitch and with my type of game.
“I would like to say I am very happy that we got two very important players.”
