Pep: Kompany is ready for Man City comeback
Pep Guardiola insists he has no concerns about Vincent Kompany’s impending return to first team action as the Belgian skipper prepares to make his comeback against Everton on Sunday.
Kompany will travel with the squad to Goodison Park after two months on the sidelines with a knee problem.
The 30-year-old has been hampered with injuries over recent years with his latest, sustained in November, his 35th since joining City nine years ago.
Kompany has not played a full 90 minutes for his club since last April, and while Guardiola is aware of the psychological impact it could have on his captain, he is confident the defender will soon be back to his best.

“Everybody needs time to come back to a high level when they are a long time injured but his mentalities are strong, he knows exactly what he has to do,” he said.
“What I would like is [for him] not to put a lot of pressure on himself. Now is a time to make weeks of training sessions, play games when I decide he has to play and not put a lot of pressure on having to do many things.
“He has to do simple things, play like a central defender, like he was. After he has played one game, then another one, and then the amount is running, he will hopefully achieve his level.”
