Toure demands City perfection

Chelsea may be five points clear at the Premier League summit with a game in hand, but Manchester City veteran Yaya Toure believes Pep Guardiola’s side can reel them in if they have a flawless run in.

Ten-man City battled to a 2-1 win over Burnley last time out thanks to a man-of-the-match performance from the former Barcelona midfielder.

Goals from Gael Clichy and Sergio Aguero were enough to overcome a Ben Mee score and Fernandinho’s red card.

And Toure admits he is happy with the result, but urged his side to aim for perfection.

“I am very happy and very delighted with the result,” Toure said. “It would have been very harsh if we drew or lost the game.

“If we want to lift this trophy, we have to do a perfect second round.

“The most important thing was the three points. We fight and get the result.

“It is that kind of attitude we have to have to go far and win this league.

“Liverpool was four points in front and now it’s only two, which is brilliant.

“Chelsea physically are in good shape because they play one game a week and we will just be patient and we will have an opportunity, 100 percent.”
