Watford debut ‘a dream come true’, says youngster Mason
Watford youngster Brandon Mason said it was a “dream come true” to turn out for the Hornets, despite his debut coming in their 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day.
The 19-year-old came on in the 68th minute for Jose Holebas and enjoyed a promising first appearance for Walter Mazzarri’s side.
Watford have slipped to 14th in the Premier League, having lost six of their last eight matches, the last being a 2-0 reverse at Stoke City on Tuesday evening.

They host Championship outfit Burton Albion in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Despite the negative result against Spurs, full-back Mason said it was great personal moment for him, and thanked Mazzarri for giving him a first-team chance.
“It’s not the result we wanted and we started quite slow in the game,” he said.
“For me personally, I’m glad to get my debut and it’s a dream come true. I’m grateful to the manager for giving me the chance and I just want to kick on from here really.
“It’s difficult because we’re a Premier League club so it’s not easy to get a chance, but all the hard work I’ve been putting in is finally paying off.”
