Whelan excited about new Potter Berahino
Saido Berahino’s move to Stoke City has offered the Potters another option up front and Glenn Whelan is excited to see what the striker can do.
Berahino’s protracted departure from West Brom was finally completed last week, with the 23-year-old heading to Stoke for a £12million fee.
He joins the likes of Peter Crouch and Jon Walters in the Potters’ strike force and will look to quickly force his way into Mark Hughes’ plans.
During his time at the Baggies, Berahino made over 100 appearances, but fell out of favour after a failed move to Tottenham in 2014.

Despite that ill-feeling, Stoke vice-captain Whelan is confident that the former England U-21 international can make an impact at his new club.
Whelan said: “We have a good group of lads and hopefully Saido can come in and settle pretty quickly.
“The more players the club can sign the more it will push us on to improve and stay in the team.
“Deals being done can only be a good thing, the manager has his ideas of pushing the club forward.”
