I believe in Swansea, says new signing Narsingh

Luciano Narsingh’s January move from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven to Premier League strugglers Swansea City may have raised some eyebrows, but the players himself believes the move will pay off in the long run.

The midfielder left the reigning Eredivisie champions for a fee of around £4 million as new manager Paul Clement bolstered his squad for the second half of the season.

Narsingh had been a regular in the PSV side, and has featured against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in this season’s Champions League.

However he is relishing the challenge of helping his new side stave off relegation, a battle he believes they are more than capable of winning.

“Maybe some people think it would be better to join a team who are higher in the table, but I believe Swansea can move up the league,” the Netherlands international said.

“The first game I saw was against Arsenal. I thought the players did very well in the first half and were unlucky. I believe in this team.

“If we can play for 90 minutes the way the team did in the first half against Arsenal, we will win games.

“The lads showed that with a great performance against Liverpool, and then again against Southampton.

“Of course it is difficult when you play against some of the big clubs in the Premier League, but everything is possible.”
