Conte: Title not won yet for Chelsea

Antonio Conte insists there is still a long way to go for his Chelsea side in terms of winning the title race, after the runaway Premier League leaders were held to a draw at Burnley.

The Blues moved ten points clear at the top of the table after Tottenham were beaten by Liverpool over the weekend, but there was a sense of disappointment from Conte after letting a lead slip at Turf Moor.

Pedro put the visitors in front after only six minutes, but Robbie Brady equalised for Burnley – who have now notched up 29 of their 30 points this season on home soil – with a superb curling free-kick later in the half, and the score remained 1-1 until the final whistle.

And with tricky trips to West Ham and Stoke City on the horizon, Conte is all too aware that his side need to keep their foot hard down on the pedal.

“There are 13 games before the end and if anybody thinks the league is finished I can tell you now it’s not,” he said.

“There are six teams who can win the league and anything can happen until the end. We must continue to work in this way, to try to win like we did.

“I’m happy with my players’ commitment and their will to win, but it can happen that you only take a point and not three.

“We have to think only about ourselves, not to look at others. We want to do something important this season. You must play your game and then see the other results.

“Our mentality must be to always try to win. We did this [against Burnley] but sometimes you must understand there are tough games and this was very tough.

“I’m disappointed with the points but not the work-rate, commitment or will to win.”
