King hopes cup win will be Premier League launchpad
Midfielder Andy King wants to use Leicester City’s FA Cup success to act as a springboard for their stuttering Premier League campaign.
King was captain of the Foxes against Derby as manager Claudio Ranieri made ten changes with Leicester coming through 3-1 winners after extra-time.
Ranieri’s men face Millwall in the next round but before that there’s the small task of relegation rivals Swansea City away this coming Sunday.
And King hopes that the Foxes can take the confidence from their success in the FA Cup fourth round into this weekend’s game with plenty of players pushing for a spot in the side.
“We’re in the hat for the next round and we’ve got a tough game away at Millwall. We know what that’ll be like, but we’re delighted. We can use that now to build our confidence,” he said.
“Also, we’re hoping it can be a springboard to kick-start our league form ahead of the big game on Sunday [against Swansea].

“As the game went on it looked like there was only going to be one winner. How you get over the line doesn’t really matter.
“It’s always hard when you make a number of changes and some of the boys out there haven’t played so much this season.
“Great credit to them because they were really good and it shows the strength and depth we’ve got in the squad.”
