Mawson: Swansea sweat the small stuff to continue upswing
It is the little things that are making a big difference at a resurgent Swansea – according to Alfie Mawson.
Under new boss Paul Clement the Swans have staged a remarkable turnaround – their victory over Leicester at the weekend lifted them to 15th in the Premier League table.
The Swans have won three of their last four in the league and Mawson smashed home a volley in their victory over the Premier League champions and Clement has been key to that.
“He is a very positive person,” Mawson said.
“He is massive on the details. He said we have to work hard on this and we have to work on that, and we are working very hard on those things.
“We are going home tired after training, but we know we have had a great session.
“We are doing the basics right now and we have our confidence back. He knows what he wants and you can see from the results we have had that it is working.”

Mawson’s fine volley was his third goal in his last six games but the clean sheet matters more, according to the centre-back.
“I was pleased with the goal,” he added. “I connected really well with it and when I looked up it was in the back of net.
“The feeling at that moment was pure elation – I was very, very excited.
“I am a centre-back but if I can chip in with a few goals I will. I love scoring them when I can.
“But truthfully, the clean sheet means more to me than that goal.”
